Description
The Duplex Lite is engineered for the ultralight enthusiast wishing to cut every ounce from their pack weight. At under 15 ounces, the Duplex Lite is hands down the lightest fully enclosed two person tent in the world.
Relative to our award winning Duplex Classic Tent, this version has a slimmed down footprint and our lightest Dyneema Composite Fabric options are standard. It is sized for a small couple on standard width pads, or as a spacious tent for one hiker plus gear.
When it comes to long-distance backpacking, every gram counts, and the Duplex Lite allows weight conscious hikers the freedom to go further, and faster, with a shelter that is roomy, well ventilated, packs down small, and has the features a thru-hiker needs.
Features
- Made from waterproof, durable, PFAS free Dyneema® Composite Fabric. The Duplex Lite features our thru-hiker tested "Lite" fabric, including a .55 oz/sqyd DCF canopy, a .75 oz/sqyd DCF floor, and 1.3mm bright yellow guy lines.
- Sets up with two 48” (122 cm) Trekking Poles or Tent Poles and just 6 to 8 Stakes (each sold separately).
- The small footprint allows you to squeeze into hard to find backcountry flat spots, providing a decisive advantage over larger tents. The 40" (101cm) floor width is just wide enough for a small couple on standard width pads, or plenty of space for a single hiker to spread out with gear.
- Two people can sit upright side by side facing out either door while removing shoes or while reaching out to cook or access gear just outside the tent.
- Each of the four storm doors can be opened or closed independently for views, ventilation, vestibule space, or to block cold wind and rain. Overlapping storm doors allow for a small amount of airflow without the need for additional venting. There are no zippers on the doors that could potentially fail over time. Lightweight toggles are standard, or add Stick on Magnet Toggles for a DIY upgrade.
- Each screen door has a rainbow zipper which allows easy entry and access to the vestibule space on either side of the trekking pole. The screen drops conveniently inwards rather than hanging in your way. No need to roll it up or secure it.
- Fully enclosed .67 oz/sqyd ultralight insect netting keeps even the smallest insects out and adds ventilation around the perimeter.
- The canopy overhangs the bathtub floor by 4-5 inches (12 cm). In calm rain or under wet trees one or two doors can be left open for air flow without water dripping on the floor space. In almost all conditions at least one downwind door can be left open for air. For even better rain protection with a door open, use the cords at the ends of the tent to pull the door screen back away from any spray.
- Taller solo hikers can lay diagonally or add trekking pole cups and 32" poles at the ends of the tent to boost the head room further.
- In order to keep the weight as low as possible, this tent does not have any built in internal pockets. Save weight by using your backpack's pockets for nighttime storage, or add a Stick-On Mesh Tent Pocket or our popular Gear Nest.
- The durable floor material does not require a separate groundsheet. Flat Groundsheets are an optional precaution.
- Built with high quality #3 YKK Zippers. All zipper sliders are field-replaceable. Repair tape and spare sliders are included. Washing Instructions.
- All of our tents do pretty well in the wind. The material can handle high wind loads. As long as your stakes stay in the ground (use rocks if available) your tent will stay standing. Dyneema® Composite Fabric is not a particularly noisy fabric; however, almost any tent will make a little noise in the wind. Earplugs are not a bad idea for windy nights
- All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.
- Designed and assembled in the USA from domestic and imported components.

Care Instructions
-
Gear made with Dyneema® Composite Fabric (former known as Cuben Fiber) should be hand-washed in a bucket or bathtub with laundry detergent and warm water.

Do Not put any Dyneema® Composite Fabric gear in a dryer as excessive heat may cause the material to shrink!
