Meet Bec: Ultralight Gear Ambassador

Jun 22, 2026

What is your favourite hike?

Ooh, so many for so many different reasons. My favourite overall would have to be the Pacific Crest Trail, over 4000km of incredible views across the USA. In Australia, my favourite overnighter would be Feathertop via Razorback Ridge and my favourite multiday would be the Larapinta.

Any exciting adventures planned for 2026?

Always! So far booked in for the year I have a few ultra distance trail races, a 1000km bikepacking trip in South Australia and multiple overnight hiking adventures.

What piece of gear could not live without?

Oh man, I think my favourite piece of gear to make life easier on trail is my gravity filtering water setup. I’m currently using a 2L CNOC bag, sawyer squeeze filter and 2L platypus soft flask.

How did you get into hiking?

It started on my honeymoon in 2016, my husband Sean and I decided to do the Milford Track in New Zealand, with zero hiking experience. We fumbled our way through it and had the time of our lives. Ten years on I couldn’t love it more.

What’s your best advice for new hikers?

Just get out there. Don’t worry about having everything right. Let people know your plans for safety and enjoy yourself.
