The pad is great in terms of weight and volume. BUT it seems like a disposable item. Over a 42 day trip I shredded mine with gum nuts and gravel. I even accidentally tore a small strip off when pulling out of my pack. I wouldn’t buy it again - I’d go for something more robust and long-lasting.
this pad is so versatile. being able to link it with inflatable pads is very valuable and for frameless packs it epiomises the ultralight mentality by helping stiffen your back panel. it is a great item with so many uses. let your imagination go wild. bob sled, sleeping mat, sit pad, backpanel, wind barrier...
