For the weight of less than two nickels, you can now almost silently inflate your sleeping pad with no extra effort in about 3 to 5 minutes! Just hook this ultralight micro inflator up to your phone or power bank and sit back and relax (or set up the rest of camp) while it does the work for you.
You might still need to add an extra breath or two at the end to get to a firmness that you enjoy on your mattress pad.
Nozzles to connect with additional sleeping pads can be found in the expansion pack.
Includes: Alpenblow micro inflator and Nozzles to fit Thermarest (WingLock™), NEMO™, Sea-to-Summit™, EXPED™, ZenBivy™, and Big Agnes™ pads.
I couldn't believe something so light could be so effective. True, you need to carry a phone or power pack, but I tend to carry both, so plugging the 8.5 gram inflator into a power source wasn't an issue. It inflated my Nemo sleep mat in minutes. It comes with adapters for different mats and you don't notice the weight in your pack. Much easier than huffing and puffing as you set up camp.
This tiny pump is exactly what I wanted. At 9g, including the valve adapter, this pump is literally nine times lighter than my pump sack, and it's so quiet there's no chance you'll be bothering anybody else while you set up your sleeping pad.
It takes just under 4 minutes to inflate my regular sized Tensor All Season pad (as far as its little motor will go at least), plus three breaths. The slower inflation time is a sacrifice I'm willing to make to have a pump that doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner going off in the dark of camp.
I noticed that there were two valves that both seemed compatible with the Tensor, but one was tighter fitting. After testing both, I found that the tighter fitting one inflated the pad approximately one minute more quickly (the aforementioned time).
At a tiny 10g, it's hard to complain. It does take a while to inflate a mat and a couple of extra breaths are needed to fully inflate, both of which are noted by Alpenglow, so no surprise. No extra charging required, runs on USB-C from my phone without draining the phone, not bulky, no need to monitor it as it inflates or hold the device while it's inflating the pad (unlike other pumps). Mine stashes in the pocket of the pad's stuff sac. Only real issue is the price.
