A good night's sleep is key to enjoying yourself outdoors, and a good way to achieve that blissful slumber is Exped's Mega Pillow
Mega by name and Mega by nature, this extra-large headrest (53 x 32 cm) has an inflatable core with a soft, padded fleece cover to caress your face to sleep. It's easily removable for laundry and the easy deflation pin makes adjusting the height a breeze - choose between anything from 12cm down. Two loops enable attachment to your sleeping mat.

The mega size exped pillow cushions my head up off the ground and is very comfortable to sleep on but there is crackle noise from the plastic bladder when your head moves on it. I got used to the noise, its not very loud, once you are still and settle there is no crackle. I have slept for 5 nights using it so far and will keep using it.
The plastic bladder is inflated by mouth quick & easy. Packup with deflation is quick by rolling it up with the valve kept open wth the little chock included. It folds and fits back into the stuff sack no problem - unlike a lot of camping gear that takes a lot of force to get back inside their sack! Its size is plenty, almost regular pillow size. Surprising how small it packs down to. I now think the smaller size than the mega would have been OK and because it would be a bit smaller in my bag I recommend getting the size under the mega.
Super small super light and super comfortable. As good as a real pillow
My experience with the Megapillow is consistent with the various online/Youtube videos I have seen which rate it as a comfortable option for backpacking, albeit being a heavy option, and it is heavy. The specifications incorrectly state that it weighs 170 grams, it came in at 200 grams on my scales, so that is something you need to consider. The cover is plush and feels good against the skin. A good option for cold nights. I wonāt be using it in summer as it is a bit too warm. I really like its dimensions, almost going the full width of my wide-sized sleeping pad. The ability to attach straps/cordage to the loops to keep it in place is also a bonus. I suppose the biggest negative for me is that it is extremely noisy. If you donāt move much it may be ok for you. Iām a side sleeper and tend to move about a fair bit making the pillow sound like someone constantly scrunching cellophane.
While it isn't truly UL, it's truly wonderful for sleep. I got onto this because of Justin Outdoors. He was carrying a very UL load out, but wasn't prepared to to skimp on sleep comfort. I'm leaning into this philosophy, because it's awesome.
