S/M and M/L Hipbelt

Choose the hipbelt that best encompasses your hip circumference (where you will actually wear the hipbelt). We recommend:

  • S/M: 29" – 38" (76–96 cm)
  • M/L: 33" – 42" (86–106 cm)

These hipbelts can expand larger than this, but it is ideal if your hip measurement is in these ranges.

If you Fit into Both Ranges, Consider These Factors:

  • Benefits of a Larger Belt: Better "wrap" around the iliac crest for comfort and easier access to hipbelt pockets (they will sit further forward).
  • Benefits of a Smaller Belt: More room to cinch the pack tighter. If you expect to lose weight on a long-distance thru-hike, the smaller belt prevents the buckle from "bottoming out."

Recommendation: Choose the size where your hip measurement falls closest to the center of the range.
