Great product perfect for hiking
Ordering was easy, dispatch was prompt and delivery was good (considering I live in a regional area).
Very happy with this nalgene bottle ,my billy pot slips on and off over the bottom for cooking or boiling water when camping/hiking an the bottle is BPA chemical free .also wide mouth if I need to put things in it, if in a situation.
This is a great bag if you're looking to get out for the day. Very light, comfortable, and plenty of space. I really like the colour too. It would benefit having an extra small pocket in the main section, but I'm super pleased with this backpack.
Great service and pricing from Ultralight Gear too. Thankyou!
I bought this pack in medium last month and it arrived just in time for a 5 day, 4 night thru hike - the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island. Sooo happy with this purchase! Things I love (in no particular order):
1) the pack is well under 1kg while also having an effective internal frame to transfer weight to hips
2) pack follows design principles of innovative ultralight multi day packs such as roll top enclosure, large side pockets (which can hold 4L of water - 2 x 1L bottles each side, as well as trekking poles, tent stakes and trowel!), a large rear pocket to hold gear for the day such as rain gear, first aid kit, lunch etc, and small pockets on hip belt and shoulder straps for items such as phone, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks etc
3) the pack has sufficient width for my tent to fit across horizontally inside the pack
4) compression straps on top allow for the option to strap tent, foam pad or other items efficiently to the top of the pack if desired
5) the measurements provided on the website of the torso length for the 3 different sizes available are an accurate guide. As with all lightweight packs it is extremely important not to just guess if you are a S, M or L - follow the guide for measuring. I did and my torso length was exactly the crossover length for S and M (my back is right at the top of the range for an S pack and at the bottom of the range for the M pack). I chose the M pack and it has been perfect for me!
6) I found the pack extremely comfortable to carry. We did serious inclines - up and down mountains, in out and across more creek crossings than I can possibly remember. I found it a great pack! As the pack is so lightweight, if anyone wanted to add a little padding to shoulder straps or hip belt it could be done easily, but I didn't feel the need. I have chronic pain issues including hip pain and expected issues with a lightweight pack but that wasn't the case.
7) generous 50L internal plus outside pockets was more than ample for my particular set up. I would caution people to consider the weight limit on this pack. Even within the 50L capacity it is important not to exceed the weight limit for comfort and effectiveness with any lightweight pack. As in, make sure you have the lightweight gear to go in it so you only fill the bag with the weight intended by the manufacturer. If you have heavier gear buy a heavier pack... but otherwise do what I did - invest in quality lightweight gear and you'll never look back! The manufacturer - Neve Gear - what a great Aussie outfit. I bought the Neve Warratah Pro Quilt too - love it! My first quilt and first time with down rather than synthetic. truly excellent! A great investment. My tent is the 3F UL Lanshan 2 trekking pole tent (1.2kg) which I also bought from this site. Happy with all of it. I'm sure there will be future tweaks on version 4, as Neve gear are innovative and will be looking for any improvements they can make. Whichever version, if you're looking for a quality lightweight pack, you've found it!
